The Satellite Network Coordination tool calculates interference expressed as a noise temperature increase in accordance with ITU Radio Regulations App. 8 “Method of calculation for determining if coordination is required between geostationary-satellite networks sharing the same frequency bands”.
For detailed interference analysis considering transmitter spectrum mask and receiver rejection the Interference tool of WRAP is used. This also allows consideration to the special propagation effects of the earth-space path.
Footprints from satellites on the surface of the earth can be calculated to for instance determine coordination areas. Earth and terrestrial stations radiating towards the geostationary orbit can be analysed for potential interference to satellites. These calculations are performed in the Coverage tool.
